LUX and Modern Painters present for one night only

At the Heart of Everything a Row of Holes
Torsten Lauschmann

12 midnight start til 1am

A unique one off site specific cinema performance, ‘At the Heart of Everything a Row of Holes’ is a satirical celebration of the conquest of technology and the clash of homo faber, the making man, with homo ludens, the playing man.

Commissioned by Glasgow FIlm Festival through the Margaret Tait Award, supported by Creative Scotland and in partnership with LUX.

This event is presented with the kind support of HFM Lighting Ltd.

Torsten Lauschmann’s work is characterised by a sense of playful experimentation and generosity. He works in a wide range of media including video projection, animation, photography, sculpture and performance. Since 2000 he has been developing techniques through which to explore the sculptural qualities of video projection. This has often involved projecting manipulated found footage or animation onto sculptural objects or elaborate geometric wall drawings to produce an illusion of three-dimensionality.

BLACK MAMA WHITE MAMA (18)

(US 1973) dir. Eddie Romero 85m. Digital.
Pam Grier, Margaret Markov, Sid Haig, Lynn Borden, Zaldy Zshornack, Laurie Burton.

The legendary Pam Grier is one of two feisty prisoners, one black, one white, one a former prostitute and the other a revolutionary, now chained together and on the run from lesbian warders, a murderous pimp and a lecherous cowboy. 70's blaxpoitation was never as morally dubiously entertaining as this great all-action showcase for Ms. Grier.

Still bursting with more energy and ideas than the myriads of schlock nothings which followed it, Sam Raimi's classic is still as enjoyable as ever.
